A study by UVigo will determine the real impact of the pandemic in Polígono San Cibrao

This work will update the report "The Polygon in Figures" that was made in 2018, when more than 40,000 data had been collected and analyzed.

The Board of Directors of the Association of Entrepreneurs reported the completion of a macro economic study with which they intend to radiograph the industrial area.

One of the main objectives of the work, as detailed by the president of the entity, is to make known exactly the impact that the pandemic has had on the San Cibrao industrial estate, for which surveys have been sent to all companies that are part of it.

In this way, the Association will also update the project “Polígono en Cifras”, a study created in 2018 to evaluate, document and know exactly the business reality of the industrial area and put it in relation to other business spaces in Galicia.

At that time, the results of the document – in which the Diputación de Ourense and a team from the Business Administration and Management of the University of Vigo also collaborated, as now, placed it as a benchmark in the north of the peninsula in regarding diversification.

The update of the study was one of the topics discussed in the Board of Directors of the Association, presenting this new report as the ideal tool to know the consequences that the covid-19 caused in the companies of the San Cibrao polygon, at the same time time that delves into other topics of interest, which will add a new dimension to the result.

Thus, the research addresses aspects such as digital transformation, sustainability, the circular economy or gender policies.

After three years and a pandemic in between, updating the data collected in 2018 and the inclusion of new ones will allow a complete X-ray of the province’s industrial epicenter.

And it is that, probably, in this period of time the profound changes already detected in the second decade of the century have accelerated.

That is why the managing body calls on companies to collaborate by providing the information that will allow this exhaustive analysis to be carried out. & nbsp;

A macro survey among companies will delve into other aspects such as digital transformation, equality or sustainability.

The associates of the San Cibrao industrial estate have already been informed of the carrying out of this work and have been sent a link in which they can collaborate by providing information that is essential to continue promoting the industrial area and putting it in value.

As happened in the previous edition, the shared data will be used exclusively anonymously and jointly, to know the situation of the Polygon at the current moment and the projection of it for the future, confidentiality being guaranteed at all times.

This work, like that of 2018, will be carried out by the Department of Business Organization and Marketing of the University of Vigo through a work team made up of professors Isabel Dieguez, Ana Gueimonde and Andrés Mazaira, all they from the Faculty of Business and Tourism of the University Campus of Ourense & nbsp;

In the one prepared in 2018, more than 40,000 data were collected and analyzed to make a photo that reflected the high impact of the San Cibrao das Viñas Industrial Park in the Ourense and Galician economies through the economic activity that It was developed in its 4,800,000 square meters (it could house together on its land the second, Sabón, and the third, A Grela), with an occupancy rate of over 88%, and characterized by its multi-sector nature and & nbsp; transversality.
