The San Cibrao Industrial Park Business Association held a meeting to assess and develop strategies to promote the Freight Station. Despite broad institutional support, the Spanish government has not yet prioritized the project.
The meeting included business leaders, the Mayor and Vice President of the Ourense Provincial Council, Marta Nóvoa; the President of the Galicia Logistics Cluster, Iago Domínguez; Transportes Pozo, a major rail freight company, and infrastructure expert Manuel Martínez Rapela.
A Key Project for Ourense
Authorities agree that the Freight Station is crucial for regional economic growth. In April, a follow-up meeting will be attended by Galicia’s Industry Minister, María Jesús Lorenzana, and Ourense Provincial President, Luis Menor.
The San Cibrao City Council continues to modify urban plans to secure the necessary land for construction.
