The Ourense Industrial Forum, organized by the San Cibrao Business Park Association, brought together business leaders and key public institutions to boost the Ourense Freight Station project and discuss the future of freight transport in the province.

The event concluded with a historic four-way agreement:

  • The Galician Government will expropriate the necessary land.
  • The San Cibrao Council will amend the urban plan to allow construction.
  • The Ourense Provincial Council will fund the final design project.

The Association’s president, José Antonio Rodríguez Araújo, highlighted that the project will benefit an industrial belt with over 13,000 workers and 7.5 million square meters.

María Jesús Lorenzana, Regional Minister for Economy and Industry, emphasized the Xunta’s support, confirming that “the Transport City will become Galicia’s logistics hub.”
Regional Minister Diego Calvo added that “public administrations must work together to make this strategic project a reality.”

Luis Menor, president of the Ourense Provincial Council, announced financial support, while Marta Nóvoa, mayor of San Cibrao, confirmed the urban modification needed to move forward.

Architect Fernando Martínez Lamas presented the preliminary design, which includes an investment of €20.5 million and a total area of 129,879 m², located next to the Ourense–Zamora railway line.

The forum concluded with a united institutional front, committed to presenting a joint proposal to the Spanish Government that will make the Ourense Freight Station a reality, strengthening the province’s industrial and logistics competitiveness.
