The Business Association of San Cibrao Industrial Park held its Annual General Assembly today, in a historic year marked by the 60th anniversary of Galicia’s largest industrial area and the confirmation of more than €60 million in strategic investments, achieved through public-private cooperation.
Created in 1965, the industrial park has grown to become one of the most important economic hubs in Galicia, currently home to 432 companies and more than 8,500 workers.
During the session, the president of the Association, José Antonio Rodríguez Araújo, highlighted that 2025 will also be remembered for the approval of the 11th expansion, adding 341,000 m² and increasing the total industrial area to 5.2 million m².
“The original 200 hectares will soon become 520. Our growth reflects vision, commitment and teamwork.”
More than €60M invested in strategic development
The president summarised the main investment projects carried out or launched in 2025:
- €35.7M — expansion of the wastewater treatment plant and Barbaña river sanitation
- €17.8M — 11th industrial expansion
- €5.8M — Galicia Cybersecurity Center (CECIGA)
- €1.2M — electric vehicle charging infrastructure
- €97,500 — security and surveillance system enhancements
- €197,000 — fire response service improvements
“These investments are not isolated actions; they are part of a long-term, collaborative development model,” Rodríguez Araújo affirmed.
60 years of growth and a new expansion phase
The president recalled that the first expansion took place in 1975, fifty years before this new phase:
“This industrial park has continuously reinvented itself, adapting to economic and technological needs.”
Key challenge ahead: talent attraction
The Association emphasised that workforce availability —both qualified and non-qualified— will be critical in the coming years:
“We need trained professionals to stay, and we need others to see San Cibrao as a land of opportunity.”
