The grants for the rehabilitation of housing for workers in Galicia 2026 are now open. What are these housing rehabilitation grants for workers in Galicia 2026?
Through a joint order from the Departments of Employment and Housing, the Xunta de Galicia has approved a new subsidy scheme for the rehabilitation of homes located in municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants, with the aim of making them available to workers under rental or use-assignment contracts.
This call, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) on 15 May 2026, has a total budget of 1.5 million euros and is aimed at companies, private individuals and local councils alike.
Who can apply for these subsidies?
There are two lines of aid with different eligible beneficiaries:
Line TR358E — For companies and private individuals:
- Companies with workplaces in Galicia that own homes to house their employees.
- Private individuals or legal entities that have an agreement with a company to dedicate the rehabilitated home to its workers.
Line TR358F — For local councils:
- Municipalities that own homes and have signed a legal agreement with companies to make them available to their workers.
In both cases, the applicant must be the owner, usufructuary or assignee of the property for a minimum period of 10 years.
How much funding can be received?
Grants can cover up to 95% of the protected budget for the works, with the following limits:

What works are eligible?
Eligible works include rehabilitation, completion and/or extension of homes, covering improvements in:
- Accessibility
- Conservation and habitability
- Sustainability and energy efficiency
Professional fees, technical reports and administrative processing costs are also eligible, provided they are duly justified. Works cannot have started before 1 January 2026.
Where must the properties be located?
The home must meet the following location requirements:
- Located in a municipality with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants in Galicia.
- Within 15 kilometres of the workplace of the intended worker.
- Minimum usable floor area of 90 m² for single-family homes, or 70 m² for homes forming part of a collective building.
How are applications assessed?
Grants are awarded through a competitive tender process, scored according to the following main criteria:
- Proximity of the home to the workplace, public transport stops and high-capacity roads.
- Type of municipality: priority given to those with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants and those with population decline.
- Energy efficiency of the rehabilitation (up to 10 points for a reduction in consumption of 60% or more).
- Sustainable materials and ecological construction techniques.
- Investor effort by the beneficiary (percentage of cost covered by own funds).
- Strategic sector of the employing company: automotive, naval, metalworking, ICT, fashion-textile, cultural industries, agri-food, fishing, forestry or elderly care.
What is the deadline to apply?
The application period is two months from the day after publication in the DOG, meaning the deadline is approximately 16 July 2026.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the Xunta de Galicia’s electronic office at sede.xunta.gal, using forms Annex I.I (TR358E) or Annex I.II (TR358F).
