The Asociación de Empresarios Polígono San Cibrao held the technical conference “Logistics Hub of the Future: Connecting the Industrial Estate with the New Freight Mobility”, focused on the future of logistics, transport and strategic infrastructure for industrial development in Ourense.
The event brought together institutional representatives, business leaders and organisations linked to industrial and logistics development.
Strategic infrastructure for the industrial future of Ourense
During the opening session, the Association’s president, José Antonio Rodríguez Araújo, highlighted the need to provide the industrial estate with railway freight infrastructure in line with its economic and industrial importance.
The Association recalled that the San Cibrao Industrial Estate includes more than 400 companies, over 8,000 workers and an annual turnover exceeding €1.7 billion.
The conference also served to support the future freight railway station planned within the Transport City, considered a key infrastructure project to improve business competitiveness and promote more sustainable freight mobility.
Logistics, mobility and institutional cooperation
The event included the participation of local, regional and national institutional representatives.
In addition to the institutional sessions, the conference featured a technical analysis of freight flows in the province of Ourense and a visit to the secure truck parking facility located in the Transport City.
This infrastructure, promoted by the Association and operational since 2025, includes 59 parking spaces, 24-hour surveillance, European Gold-level security certification, access control and electric charging points.
San Cibrao strengthens its position as an industrial and logistics node
The Asociación de Empresarios Polígono San Cibrao stressed that the development of modern logistics infrastructure is essential to attract investment, create jobs and strengthen business competitiveness.
The Association also highlighted that the industrial estate is entering a new stage defined by the integration of industry, logistics and innovation.
