In 1979, a visionary group of businessmen gave life to the Polígono San Cibrao Businessmen’s Association, with the main objective of safeguarding the shared interests of businessmen established in this important industrial hub.
In its beginnings, it was established as the Association of Plot Owners of the Industrial Estate of San Cibrao das Viñas.
This small group sought support from the Administration and the provision of basic services and infrastructure necessary to promote the growth of this industrial area.
Transfer to modern offices for a BRIGHT FUTURE
The initial offices were located in Plaza Paz Novoa, while the Uteco boardroom was used as an assembly and meeting room.
In 1983, the association took an important step by moving to the Polígono San Cibrao and establishing itself in the premises of the Savings Bank.
This provided additional services, such as a tobacconist, post office, cafeteria and security, for the benefit of its members.
In 1997, a significant milestone was reached with the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Xunta de Galicia, the Provincial Council of Ourense, the San Cibrao City Council and the Business Association. This agreement resulted in the creation of infrastructure worth 600 million pesetas, further strengthening the business environment of the Polígono San Cibrao.
Security by flag, new security services in San Cibrao
The year 2006 marked a period of expansion and modernization for the association. A First Intervention Fire Service was introduced, a pioneering service in a business area. In addition, the first surveillance cameras were installed in the San Cibrao Industrial Estate, improving security. A private night surveillance service was also launched, increasing protection for businesses and their assets.
An outstanding achievement came in 2009, when the association received the National Award for Informative Work in Occupational Risk Prevention from the PRL Foundation .
In 2012, it was again recognized with the National Award for Outstanding Entity in Occupational Safety and Health by the Occupational Safety Training Magazine.
The association continued to evolve and in 2017 achieved employment agency status, expanding its reach to help workers find employment at member companies.
In 2018, the Polígono San Cibrao Business Association presented the “Polígono en Cifras Study”, a personalized data laboratory that allowed companies to consult and better understand the real and dynamic situation of the business community in the Polígono San Cibrao.
Throughout its history, it has continued to innovate and work for its business community.
In 2020, it received the Innovation and Health Award in the SME category for its Risk Map, awarded by Mutua Universal.
In 2022, the association launched its current Master Plan , which includes important projects such as the railway freight station for the Polígono, the creation of a truck parking lot in the Transport City, improvements in the public transport service, improvements in the treatment plant municipal, the expansion of the San Cibrao Industrial Estate and improvements in other key services.
The Polígono San Cibrao Business Association has played a fundamental role in the business development of the region and continues to work tirelessly to strengthen and promote sustainable growth in the Polígono San Cibrao and its surroundings.
